Sibkabel Machine-Building Plant has launched a high-tech octane drawing line. It will increase productivity and product quality.

The new equipment will be used to produce flexible power cables intended for general construction needs.

According to Alexander Gazenauer, head of Perspective Development Bureau of the plant, during the drawing process the wire is being set at the necessary diameter for twisting the conductor core of the cable. Before the need in this element was closed by another shop, in which the drawing was made on single-strand lines. Not only did this slow down the production process, but because there was no annealing unit, the work had to be completed in muffle furnaces, which added another four working hours.

In addition, this technology did not produce stable wire parameters, which resulted in loops and breaks.

The new system will draw eight wires at a time. Another advantage is the automatic die change (wire drawing tool) and contact device cleaning.
