The Ministry of Industry and Geology of Yakutia told about the preliminary results of the current year in the region in the mining industry.

Thus, according to the ministry, oil production in Yakutia will increase by 9% compared to last year's figures, while natural gas production will more than double, by 111%.

The production growth is due to the commissioning of the main gas pipeline at the end of 2019, which will transport gas from the Chayandinskoye field to residents of the Far East and to the PRC.

In addition, in 2020, the republic's gold mining companies broke the production record set in 1975. By the end of 2020, this figure may reach 39 tons. This year, the largest of the new deposits in the country, Tokka, was discovered here. Its reserves exceed 23 tonnes of gold.

Next year Yakutia intends to increase annual coal production up to 38 million tons.
