Cartoon characters of Fiksiki have become the mascot of the Russian Federation pavilion at the World Expo 2020 in Dubai.

The theme of the Russian pavilion this year is creativity. "Therefore, one of our priorities at Expo 2020 in Dubai is to show the world Russia's creative potential. And the chosen mascot is one of its successful examples," said Pavilion General Commissioner, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Alexey Gruzdev.

According to Yulia Nikolaeva, general producer of Riki Group, the issues which the animated film touches upon - science, technology, the environment - are close and understandable for audiences all over the world. Already now, she said, the cartoon has gained fans in Asia, and after the exhibition Fiksiki may become popular with viewers in the Middle East.

Nikolaeva recalled that a similar experience has already been in 2010 in Shanghai, when the mascot was Smeshariki.

The mascot will be presented at the big presentation of the pavilion on April 8-9 in Dubai during the Russia Creates conference.
