The first production of LEDs appeared in Russia. The production line was launched at the Clover plant in St. Petersburg.

To date, all the LEDs that are on store shelves are manufactured abroad. At the beginning of production capacity will not be enough to cover all demand in Russia, but the volume of production will increase.

"In terms of cost LEDs have become better or at the level of foreign samples. We expect that the plant will strongly increase production," said Deputy Chairman of Rusnano MC Dmitry Pimkin.

Annually, according to him, the production will be doubled.

The plant may produce up to 10 million LEDs per month, which can be used for lighting motorways, museums, cities, etc.

According to the media, the amount of investment in the project exceeded 350 million rubles.
