VEB.ru plans to transfer St. Petersburg data center Xelent to a new market investor

VEB.Russian State Corporation intends to sell Xelent, the largest data processing center (DPC) in St. Petersburg, to a dedicated investor in February at an auction.

The initial value of the asset, according to the market estimate, will amount to about 2 billion rubles.

Currently more than 350 organizations use the services of the data center.

The bid winner will be the bidder who will offer the highest price for the data center. The property of the center is to be sold by a single lot. The tender documentation provides only for the first and repeated bidding.

According to the Corporation's website, major public and private investors have already expressed their interest in the data center.

According to Mikhail Kuzovlev, the First Deputy Chairman of VEB.Russia, the corporation now has the task to maintain the activities of the enterprise in a stable condition, as well as to qualitatively and promptly ensure the transfer of the asset to the new owner.

"By supporting the operation of the enterprise which has fallen into bankruptcy, VEB.RF is able to ensure the maximum attractiveness of the asset for the market. This is possible when we have control over the asset as in case of Stack Data Network," he said on VEB.ru web-site.
