The port terminal in St. Petersburg has become the first port in the country to be certified for the storage of organic products.

As explained in the Union of Organic Agriculture of Russia, now the logistics operator will be able to participate in the system of supply of organic products according to the requirements of European regulations.

Previously, each shipment was controlled by specialists from the certification body of the exporter and the terminal was inspected annually. Now the responsibility for port operations with organic products will lie with the port terminal in St. Petersburg. This will reduce the cost of goods and simplify the shipping process.

The certificate provides for two working formats. In the first case it is a direct transshipment, when the goods from the car on the transporters immediately transshipped into the hold of the vessel. The second scheme allows the products to be offloaded to the terminal's warehouse first, if necessary.
