An elevator complex will be built in Tatarstan for 1.7 billion rubles. It will be able to store 140,000 tonnes of grain at one time.
The construction will start in 2021. The first phase of the construction will be completed as early as next year. The elevator will start operating as early as 2022, and it is expected to reach its design capacity by 2024.
According to Director General of Avgust-Agro Aidar Galyautdinov, most of the grain is transported between Russian regions by trucks. Moreover, nowadays the transportation of agrarian crops by railway and water transport becomes more profitable.
The company expects that the time of loading the grain into the vessel will not exceed 10 hours instead of several days in the company port. The same amount of time is supposed to be set aside for the formation of a railway train. Galyautdinov stressed that there are no similar proposals in Tatarstan at the moment.
According to the plans, when the designed capacity is reached, about 420 thousand tons of products will go through the elevator annually. In the future, the company intends to construct another elevator that will store 100 thousand tons of grain.
