Russia has started to grow ginger

Experimental crops of ginger were planted on an area of half a hectare in a farm in the Astrakhan region.

This spicy plant is native to Western India and South-East Asia. Now ginger is imported to Russia most often from China.

Astrakhan farmer Zulkipli Ramazanov started planting this crop. He bought seeds in China, and this year he plans to buy them in Novosibirsk.

According to the website of the Ministry of Agriculture, in general, ginger successfully adapts to the Russian climate and if the agro-technical technology is followed, high yields are expected.

There are plans to develop this direction in the future, and the sowing area may increase.
