The Krasnodar region has increased its supplies of canned fruit and vegetable products abroad by 4.5 times in five years, according to the website of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.

According to Andrey Korobka, vice-governor of the region, last year Kuban exported canned vegetables and fruits for 19 million dollars within the framework of the national project.

In terms of volume, supplies rose from 4.2 thousand tons to 12.6 thousand tons. The main importers of Kuban products were Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Uzbekistan.

As Korobka said, the region intends to increase supplies outside the country through increased production of fruit and vegetables. The task will be carried out through the introduction of new ameliorated land into the turnover and state support measures for the industry.

Now 12 large and medium sized companies work in the region, as well as 35 small companies producing such produce.
