UMG SDM, a manufacturer of road construction equipment, has presented the first Russian excavator powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The new machine is based on the E330C crawler excavator in which the diesel engine has been changed to a gas engine and a smaller 500-liter cryogenic tank has been installed. During liquefaction, the volume of gas is reduced by 600 times.

The bucket volume is adjustable from 1.25 to 2 cubic meters.

The technique is equipped with a German pump-dispenser and joysticks. In the future, they are planned to be replaced with Russian-made hydraulics.
