The presidents of Russia and Egypt during a telephone conversation came to an agreement to fully restore flights between the countries.
In particular, they also talked about the resumption of flights between Russian cities and the resorts of Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada.
Flights were suspended in the fall of 2015 after the crash of a Russian plane over the Sinai Peninsula. Regular flights to Cairo, meanwhile, were launched in April 2018, while Egyptian resorts were still closed to charters from Russia.
Several delegations from Russia on aviation security had already carried out inspections at Egyptian airports, the most recent of which ended in February.
