More than 500 thousand companies registered in the national system of product labeling "Honest Mark", of which more than 120 thousand - joined the system since the beginning of 2021. This was reported by the Centre for the Development of Advanced Technologies, the operator of the labelling system.

"We have noted a significant increase in the registration of companies in the system "Honest Mark". At present more than 500 thousand companies have joined the labeling system, and since January 1 this year the number of enterprises has increased by more than 120 thousand," said Revaz Yusupov, deputy director general of the Center for the Development of Perspective Technologies.

According to him, the largest number of companies deals with the production of light industry - they are more than 136 thousand. The second place belongs to the "tobacco" category with 122 thousand companies. The third place is taken by representatives of the pharmaceutical industry with more than 87 thousand companies.

"Honest Sign" is a national system for marking and tracing products in different categories. Marking is the application of a special Data Matrix code on the packaging and entering this unit of the goods in the database. The digital code ensures the authenticity and quality of goods.

The main task of the system is to increase the safety of Russians, reduce the number of counterfeit and low-quality analogues. The system is focused on those groups of goods where statistically the biggest number of counterfeits occur. The labeling project affects all participants of the process, from production owners, importers, distributors, retailers to consumers.

Recall that on July 1, 2020 in Russia it became mandatory to label tobacco, medicines and footwear. In 2020 digital labeling of perfumes, photovoltaic products, tires and tires was introduced, and in 2021 - five groups of light industry products and dairy products. Experiments are also underway on labeling bottled water, beer and other low-alcohol beverages.
