The number of countries importing KAMAZ products has approached 50

Russia's largest manufacturer of heavy trucks, KAMAZ already exports its products to nearly 50 countries, with Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam remaining the leading importers, the company said.

"In Kazakhstan, the automotive giant's market share has grown from 33% to 42% last year, and KAMAZ has laid the iron casting plant in this country, the piling field for which will be ready as early as this summer. KAMAZ plans to make the first commercial casting in Kazakhstan in 2023", said KAMAZ's CEO Sergey Kogogin.

According to him, the company needs to build a plant abroad not only because of the need for more advanced technology than in Russia, but also because of a labour shortage.

With its second largest importer, Turkmenistan, the company wrapped up a three-year contract in August and is already preparing to work out a long-term agreement and build new service centers.

"The country is very active in building roads and facilities, developing all velayats. Therefore the number of KAMAZ trucks is so great that we decided to build four new service centres in addition to the Ashkhabad one. We are already building the first one in Turkmenbashi, as it is the gateway, through which all our equipment is delivered to Turkmenistan by ferry. We will immediately conduct pre-sale preparation and distribution of trucks on the territory of the state. With their volume of construction, our equipment will be in demand in the future," explained the head of the company.

According to the company estimates the presence on the Uzbek market was the most difficult for KAMAZ because of the removal of customs duties and import of used vehicles.Difficulties were alleviated through the establishment of a leasing company in the country.

"The leasing program began to be actively promoted, and this has dramatically changed our positioning in the local market. Now 60-80 vehicles are leased every month, and this product is considered a very profitable offer in the market of Uzbekistan", - summed up the head of KAMAZ.
