The volume of subsidies for the development of agricultural cooperatives in the Volgograd region was doubled - up to 15 million rubles, the press service of the regional administration reported.
"The regional support of agricultural cooperatives is doubled - up to 15 million rubles - in 2021. The first tranches worth about three million rubles were already received by the cattle breeders of Volgograd region," the report says.
The government support will allow to increase the volume of milk procurement from members of cooperatives, which, in its turn, will promote strengthening of personal subsidiary farms and development of processing, authorities expect. In addition to the "extra charge" for milk, cooperatives can receive a subsidy to cover part of the cost of buying property, agricultural machinery, equipment and mobile trading facilities.
It is expected that during the year for the development of the cooperative movement the region will also receive the federal subsidies.
Last year nine agricultural cooperatives of the Volgograd oblast received subsidies and grants, and for the last six years - 37 such associations. At the same time, the amount of support for small forms of farming in the Volgograd region increased from 57.5 million rubles in 2014 to 446.3 million in 2020. Since 2014, 636 grants have already been issued to rural residents, and the share of the small agribusiness sector in the region's total gross agricultural product has increased from 13% to 22%, the administration's press service added.
