The fishing industry is waiting for the abolition of excessive inspections

Members of the fish industry have once again demanded the abolition of excessive inspections. According to Kommersant, fish supplies from the Far East have been threatened by the actions of territorial divisions of Rosselkhoznadzor, which inspect refrigerated trucks.

It is worth noting that in April 2020, the department required the heads of territorial offices not to inspect sealed containers with fish products, which are in transit through the railway stations or seaports.

On May 20, the Main Department once again reminded about this. However, this requirement continues to be violated on the ground - currently 90% of refrigerated containers are inspected.

The market participants estimate the losses at 300-400 million roubles a year.

What's more, due to inconsistent transportation rules, producers' costs are increasing, which leads to unjustified growth of prices for products - losses from excessive inspections amount to at least 4-5% of the wholesale price of fish.

The press service of the Ministry of Agriculture said that they are in favor of reducing the number of inspections for shipments in sealed containers.
