Serial production of Russian premium-class Aurus Senat cars has started at the Elabuga plant in Tatarstan, RIA Novosti reported.

As it was earlier reported in mass media, the family of luxury brand Aurus includes four modifications: SUV, minivan, sedan and limousine. The base modification costs 18 mln rubles, and the maximum modification costs 22 mln rubles.

The first Russian premium-class cars Aurus Senat will be sent for distribution in June 2021, it is specified in the documents for the event. Part of the cars produced is planned to be sold in foreign markets, primarily in the Middle East. In the future it is planned to enter the markets of China and Western Europe.

12.4 billion rubles of public investment has been invested in the project. Shareholders of Aurus are the Central Automobile and Automotive Research Institute NAMI (63.5%), the UAE Defence, Security and Development Fund Tawazun (36%) and Sollers (0.5%).
