By 2030 every tenth car manufactured in Russia will be an electric car
Russia intends to increase the production of electric cars to 10% of the total volume. This was announced by Maxim Kolesnikov, Director of the Department of Economy Sectors at the Ministry of Economic Development.
"By 2030, we expect that we can reach the production of at least 150 thousand electric cars per year," TASS quoted him as saying. As a result, the share of this type of transport in nine years may reach 10% of the total production.
Kolesnikov also said that the Ministry has already sent for approval a draft concept for the development of production and use of electric vehicles in Russia.
The total cost of the concept is estimated at 850 billion roubles. The authorities hope that 600 billion of them will be private investments.
The price of electric cars that are localized in the Russian Federation to receive government support must be up to 2.5 million rubles.
