Four Russian films included in the Cannes Film Festival programme

Films by Russian directors Kirill Serebrennikov, Kira Kovalenko, Alexei German Jr. and Sergei Loznitsa will be shown at the Cannes Film Festival 2021. Kirill Serebrennikov's film "Peter in the Flu" will compete for the top prize, along with the work of such directors as François Ozon, Wes Anderson and Paul Verhoeven.

This year the Cannes Film Festival will be held for the 74th time.

Kirill Serebrennikov's film based on the novel by Aleksei Salnikov has been included in the main competition program of the festival. The film "Unclenching Fists" by Kira Kovalenko and "House Arrest" by Alexei German Jr. were included in the "Certain Regard" section. Sergei Loznitsa's Babi Yar will be screened in the Prime Minister section.

Traditionally Cannes Film Festival is attended by internationally renowned directors. Such films as "Annette" by Leos Karaks, "All went well" by Francois Ozon, "French Despatch" by Wes Anderson, "Hero" by Asghar Farhadi, "Red Rocket" by Sean Baker, "Drive my car" by Ryusuke Hamaguchi and others will compete for the "Palme d'Or" in the main program.
