Revenues of trade and services companies in Moscow grew by almost 50%

The turnover of Moscow's trade and services enterprises increased by 46.1% in the first five months of 2021, the capital's mayor's office told reporters.

"The turnover of trade and service organizations is growing at a rate outstripping inflation. For five months 2021 their proceeds have made 5,57 trillion rubles and have grown on 46,1 % to five months 2020", - the words of the deputy mayor of Moscow Vladimir Efimov are resulted in the message.

As he said following the results of five months almost in all sectors there are double-digit increases to similar period of 2020. So, for example, the turnover of sphere of services for five months has grown on 50,1 %, having reached 3,1 trillion rubles. Retail trade turnover amounted to 2.5 trillion rubles from January to May inclusive, i.e., it increased by 41.6%.

Revenue from non-food trade, which in the midst of the pandemic largely went online, compared with January-May last year increased by 48.8%, said the head of Moscow Department of Economic Policy and Development Kirill Purtov. At the same time, turnover of food trade, which was affected by the pandemic to a lesser extent, increased by 10.2% compared to the same period in 2020, added the head of the department.
