Winemakers of Krasnodar region in the first quarter of 2021 increased wine exports by 25%. It was reported by the press-service of the Ministry of agriculture and processing industry of the region.

The governor of the region Veniamin Kondratiev told that all winemakers have delivered more than 135 thousand decaliters. He noted that serious preferences have been created for the industry for producers.

"Now only wine from Russian wine material can be called Russian," Kondratyev said.

According to him, another important point was the work on the protection of grape lands. As of today 40 thousand hectares have been withdrawn from the construction sphere.

"Of course, the construction industry has lost billions. But we have an advantage in the development of viticulture, and winemaking, and health resorts. It is also important that the price to quality ratio in the world markets is on the side of Russian wine," he said.

According to him there is a need to actively promote the local wine on the foreign shelves.

Today Krasnodar Region wines are exported to 18 countries. In 2020 its supplies will increase by 17%.
