UAZ pickup truck entered service with Iranian police

An UAZ pickup truck has entered service with Iran's municipal police in the city of Chehbehara, reports online media outlet Autonews.

The SUV has been marked and equipped with flashing beacons and a hands-free device.

It is not yet known exactly how many domestic cars were bought by the law enforcement agencies of Iran.

Soroush Diesel, the distributor of UAZ in Iran, supervised the upgrading of the pickup.

We would remind you that UAZ "Patriot" and "Pickup" vehicles entered the market of Iran in the spring of this year. The cars are equipped with 150 hp petrol engine ZMZ Pro and five-speed manual gearbox Dymos.

This year the Russian carmaker concluded an agreement with Bazra Motors to set up assembly production of the Ulyanovsk cars in Ethiopia.
