A ban on crab fishing will be imposed in Primorye
In Primorye, the Ministry of Agriculture has banned crab fishing from June 20 to December 31.
The regional agency explained that the stocks of blue and Kamchatka crab are "depleting". Therefore, a ban is imposed not only on recreational fishing, but also on crab fishing for the traditional way of life of indigenous peoples.
Crab catching for research and control purposes will be an exception.
Violators face administrative liability and confiscation of the vessel. In addition, a fine of 7,184 rubles is imposed for every crab caught.
