The Russian Sputnik V vaccine has demonstrated high efficacy and safety in vaccinating the population in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) said.

"The Russian Direct Investment Fund announces data from the UAE Ministry of Health on the use of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, which demonstrates its high efficacy and safety in the population vaccination. The effectiveness of the vaccine based on the results of data analysis of over 81 thousand persons vaccinated with both components of Sputnik V was 97.8%," - said in the report of RDIF.

Besides, the Russian drug also demonstrated 100% efficiency against severe cases of coronavirus. The data analysis was performed as of June 8.
