Milk Culture, a producer of milk products from the Leningrad Region, received a loan worth 586 million rubles, thanks to which it will be able to buy new equipment and increase production by a third, the SME Corporation's press service said.

In general, the modernization and development of production is estimated at almost 1 billion rubles.

"Currently, we are implementing a project to create a production of cream cheese, cottage cheese. A new workshop has been built and sites for equipment placement have been created. The new type of import-substituting products with a long shelf life will allow us to expand our sales geography and enter new product markets," said Oleg Korzh, General Director of Dairy Culture, adding that production is scheduled to start at the end of this year.

After the launch of new lines, production volume will increase from 50 tons to 63.5 tons per day.

The company's product mix includes desserts, yoghurt, kefir, milk, sour cream and cottage cheese under the Dairy Culture and Bio Culture brands. Last year, the company's revenue increased 7% to 754 million rubles.

The dairy herd numbers over 1.4 thousand cows, with about 2 thousand hectares of fields for fodder production.
