The SME Corporation was able to get restrictions on the importation of certain types of animal feed from a number of countries lifted.

The organization reported that entrepreneurs had complained to them about difficulties in supplying the goods. The Corporation urgently started a dialogue with experts and entrepreneurs involved in selling such fodder, looking for options to solve the problem together with Rosselkhoznadzor.

The problem attracted particular attention due to the fact that we were talking about super-premium and dietary feeds. They are not produced in Russia due to economic and technical inexpediency. At the same time 13.5 thousand micro-, small and medium entrepreneurs are engaged in this sphere.

Alexander Isaevich, General Director of SME Corporation, pointed out that the availability of dietary and special feeds for animals is a humane and responsible attitude towards animals.

"Animal feed was considered a socially important product even during the pandemic. Businesses selling animal feed continued to operate along with grocery stores. Only small and medium businesses can ensure the availability of such goods in any locality," he said.
