Heavy rains that hit the Stavropol Territory caused 1 billion roubles worth of damage to agriculture. This was reported by Acting Minister of Agriculture of the region Vladimir Sitnikov.
"We estimate the damage to be within 1 billion rubles. Part of the crops from this area is insured, which is great, of course. This will somewhat affect the quality of grain. We have just reached a good area, in the range of 70,000 hectares were harvested during the day, unfortunately, now the harvesting has slowed down a bit," TASS quoted him as saying.
Sitnikov noted that to date 1.5 million tons of grain have been harvested. The average yield is 32 centners per hectare, which is higher than last year.
Recall, at the beginning of the month, heavy rains began in Stavropol Territory, in some areas the inclement weather was accompanied by hail and strong winds. The most negative situation with crops was recorded in Krasnogvardeyskiy, Trunovskiy, Ipatovskiy and Apanasenkovskiy districts - the fields were most affected there.
