Russia has launched a price check for PCR tests in private clinics and laboratories

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has instructed to check prices of PCR tests in private clinics and laboratories, according to the Cabinet of Ministers' website following meetings of the Coordinating Council for Combating the Spread of Coronavirus.

"Recently, information has been coming from the regions that PCR test results are being delayed and their cost is increasing. People are very concerned about this," the head of the government said in a statement.

The Federal Antimonopoly Service and the Federal Consumer Rights Oversight Service will check the validity of formation of prices for PCR-tests in private medical institutions and commercial laboratories. They will have to report on the results of this work by 19 July.

In addition, in order to provide all regions with an appropriate amount of vaccines against coronavirus, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has been instructed to draw up monthly plans for production of vaccines by the major manufacturers for the period until the end of 2021.

A large block of instructions at the meeting concerned the public services portal. Now the appeals of users to the technical support will be considered within a day. In addition Rospotrebnadzor has been instructed to reduce the terms of delivery of PCR-test results from laboratories to the portal of public services to 2 hours after receipt of results and so that they were promptly displayed in personal accounts of citizens.

The situation with the coronavirus continues to be grave, the government said. In this regard, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has been instructed to monitor the need of medical organizations in the necessary equipment, including oxygen for ventilators.
