Russia is studying the possibility of importing medical oxygen from other countries into the country, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said.

"In parallel, we are working on the possibility of importing medical oxygen to level out any possible risks and, most importantly, to optimize logistics," he said at a meeting of the presidium of the coordination council on the fight against coronavirus.

Earlier, RBC newspaper reported that at the meeting, Vasily Osmakov, the First Deputy Minister of Industry, had asked the domestic metallurgical companies to reduce the consumption of technical oxygen in favor of increasing supplies of medical oxygen to medical institutions.
