The freezing of mineral fertilizer prices during autumn field work in Russia will allow agricultural producers to make all necessary purchases for the 2022 harvest, the country's Agriculture Ministry said.

"This decision will allow Russian agricultural producers to make the necessary purchases of mineral fertilizers for the 2022 harvest, given that sowing of winter crops will begin in less than a month. Fertilizer producers have thus confirmed that the needs of domestic farmers remain their top priority," the ministry said.

Earlier, the producers of mineral fertilizers said they were ready to freeze fertilizer prices and to introduce a 5% discount for farmers. Such companies as Uralchem, Phosagro, Uralkali, and Akron agreed to fix their prices.
