Kremlin: RDIF is in contact with Argentina on Sputnik V deliveries

The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) is in contact with the Argentine authorities to resolve the process of supplies of the Sputnik V vaccine, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

Earlier, the newspaper La Naсion wrote with reference to the letter of the presidential adviser of Argentina Cecilia Niccolini to RDIF that delays in supplies of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V led to the critical situation in the country. According to Niccolini, Argentina did not receive 5.5 million doses of the first component of Sputnik V and 13.1 million doses of the second one in July. She said that the contract with Russia was in danger of termination, noting that other suppliers were fulfilling their obligations.

Commenting on the situation, Dmitry Peskov noted that the situation with supplies "is not a setback, but a delay."

"There is a lot of hard work going on. You have always said that the top priority is to meet the vaccination needs of Russians," Peskov told reporters.

The head of state's press secretary stressed that RDIF is in contact with the counterpart "to inevitably resolve problems that arise".
