Krasnodar Region has harvested a record 12.38 million tonnes of grain, including 10.54 million tonnes of wheat.
According to the National Agrarian Agency, the area of harvesting was about 1.9 million hectares. The average yield of cereals and leguminous plants this year is 60.1 centners per hectare, which is 11.7 centners more than last year. Wheat per hectare has yielded 62.7 centners, 13.3 centners more than last year.
More than 5 million tonnes have already been tested for quality. About 90% of the harvest was of the 4th, 3rd class.
It is worth mentioning that 3 million tons of grain are needed by the food and livestock industries of the region, and the remaining 8 million will be exported.
Earlier, the vice-governor of Krasnodar region Andrei Korobka said that out of 170 items of agricultural products, which the region exports, grain is the main. The main buyers are Turkey and Egypt. They take up to 40% of grain exports.
