Entrepreneurs of Tatarstan are active in initiatives, open to interaction with the authorities and not afraid to work with budget financing. This is how Aleksey Kuznetsov, the First Deputy Director of the Industrial Development Fund, characterized the business community of the region during the panel discussion within the framework of the international economic summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2021".

"We feel comfortable working with businesses in Tatarstan, because there is a good proactive entrepreneurial environment here that is not afraid to work with the authorities and budget money, because it is probably no secret that many consider budget money sometimes conditionally toxic," he said.

The representative of the Fund added that the Fund has implemented a lot of projects together with the Republic's entrepreneurs and attributed this, among other things, to the fact that there is developed infrastructure and special economic zones, within which companies can take advantage of special preferences and tax regimes.

The Industry Development Fund (part of the VEB.RF group) provides co-financing of projects aimed at developing new high-tech products, import substitution, leasing of production equipment, digitalization of existing production facilities, etc. on preferential terms.

Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2021, an international economic summit of Russia and member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), is taking place in Kazan on July 28-30. The summit aims to strengthen trade, economic, scientific, technical, social and cultural ties between Russia and the OIC member states.

The leitmotif of the Forum in 2021 is conscious consumption; the key topics of the business programme include partner finance, the halal industry, youth diplomacy, medicine, sport, creative industries, export development, entrepreneurship and investment. The event also hosts the Russia Halal Expo and the Mechanical Engineering Cluster Forum.

In pre-crisis 2019, the summit was attended by 3.5 thousand delegates from 72 countries and 38 regions of Russia. This year, more than 2,500 people from 60 countries are participating in the summit.
