A new cultural programme "Pushkin Card" will start in Russia on 1 September. With its help young people aged 14 to 22 will be able to buy tickets to theaters, museums and concert halls at the state expense, the government said.
According to the government, "Pushkin Card" is a special bank card for young people, which can be used only when buying tickets to cultural events. Money to the account of such cards will be directed by the state. In 2021 each card will be credited with 3 thousand rubles. The next year the sum is going to be increased. At the first stage of the program in the country allocated 3.9 billion rubles, at the first stage in it will take part more than 800 federal, regional and private institutions of culture. Their number will grow from month to month.
According to the authorities, the program will allow young people to get access to cultural events, works of art and cultural values, and will give a new impetus to the entire industry.
On September 1st it will be possible to apply for the card from the personal account on the portal of public services. The detailed conditions of the programme will be announced by the government at a later date.
