Poultry farm near Yaroslavl plans to increase gross egg production by 20%

Yaroslavl's Volzhanin poultry farm, which is one of the country's largest egg producers, intends to increase gross egg production by 20% in 2024, according to the website of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Now the company is implementing an investment program. This year, for example, the company invested about 600 million rubles in expansion and modernization. By the end of the year, this figure will increase to about 800 million rubles.

"Continuing the modernization of the poultry farm will allow Volzhanin to increase gross egg production by 20% in 2024," said Lyudmila Kosteva, the general director of the company. She pointed out that the poultry farm ensures a new level of manufacturability by implementing robotic systems for egg box formation, egg packing and box sealing.

Production speed on the lines where the robots are used increases by 43% in comparison with the areas where this work is done by people.

As part of the modernization, the company is creating its own electricity and heat generation. It will enable the company to optimize costs for energy resources. "Volzhanin" became the first agricultural enterprise in the Yaroslavl region that switched to the introduction of its own generation, thus becoming part of the work aimed at solving the problem of reducing electricity tariffs for farmers.

"The work of our agricultural enterprises in the field of optimization of energy costs will be taken into account in the framework of the annual regional contest "Future Agrotechnologies-2021" where, besides Volzhanin, other agricultural enterprises will have an opportunity to make themselves known," said Valery Kholodov, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Government. He reminded that Volzhanin was recognized the best in the Poultry Breeding nomination at the regional contest "Agrotechnologies of the Future" late last year.

Monthly egg production last year averaged nearly 1.5 thousand eggs - 70% of the total volume of eggs produced in the region.
