A new fish processing plant will open in Kamchatka by the end of 2021. This was announced by Sergey Tarusov, chairman of the Lenin fishing collective farm, at the Eastern Economic Forum.

"This year we will finish the construction of a coastal plant on the west coast of Kamchatka in the settlement of Oktyabrsky as part of the Quotas in Exchange for Investment program," he said.

According to Tarusov, the investment program should be continued, as it will eliminate the dependence of the Russian processor on processors from third world countries.

As a reminder, the Lenin fishing collective farm was founded in 1929. It is a resident of the territory of advanced development "Kamchatka". The enterprise owns 24 vessels, fish processing plants, and refrigerating capacities of 3 thousand tons. The collective farm produces fresh-frozen fish, seafood and by-products, canned fish, preserves and delicatessen products.

The Eastern Economic Forum is taking place in Vladivostok on September 2-4.
