An agreement has been reached at the Eastern Economic Forum to promote Russian non-resource exports in China. This was reported by the press service of the Sakhalin Region Government.

An agreement on cooperation and interaction to promote non-resource exports in China and attract Chinese investment in cooperative projects of Primorye enterprises was signed by Vera Shcherbina, chairman of the regional government, and Beijing Hua Nuo E Xiang (REX) Trading Company Limited, chairman of the board of directors of the Russian Trading Company in China (VEB.RF Group).

It is expected to promote Russian services, goods, exporters and manufacturers in the Chinese market. In addition, the authorities hope to attract Chinese investors to the projects of regional entrepreneurs in Primorye.

"Despite the pandemic, we are trying to maintain export volumes. At the same time, there is a tremendous potential for the promotion of goods, not only those that are produced locally, but also those coming through the Primorsky Territory from other regions of Russia. This means jobs and tax payments to the regional budget," Shcherbina said.

The VI Eastern Economic Forum was held in Vladivostok on 2-4 September.
