The servers of Russian IT company Yandex are undergoing the largest DDoS attack in the history of Runet, Vedomosti reported citing sources in the company.

The first record-breaking attack was carried out over the weekend, which the company managed to withstand with difficulty, but the attacks on the company's systems continue this week, the sources said. Seriousness and scale of the cyber-threat have also confirmed in the American company Cloudflare, which specializes in repelling cyber-attacks and cooperates with Yandex.

Now the company together with its contractors is conducting an investigation. "We are talking about a threat to the infrastructure on a national scale," the publication's interlocutor notes.

Yandex's official representative confirmed the information, stressing that the cyber attack did not affect the work of the services, the users' data was also not affected.
