A chain of off-price clothing, footwear and other goods stores Familia has opened a new format of Familia Home stores in Moscow selling home goods, Interfax reports referring to the retailer's report.

The assortment includes more than 22 thousand goods, including crockery, lamps, décor, furniture, home textiles, wallpaper and cut-away tablecloths and others.

Svetlana Mozhaeva, general director of the chain, said that the opening of the specialty store Familia Home - was "a response to the growth in demand for goods in this category."

"This step meets the needs of customers in the off-price format, as their lifestyle and habits have undergone significant changes under the influence of the pandemic, and is in line with the strategic priorities of the company's development in general," explained the head of the network.

Familia opened its first stores in 2000 in Russia as a chain of department stores selling off-price products popular in the USA and Europe and gradually developing a new trade format for Russia. Today the chain has 367 stores in 111 cities of Russia; some shops are also opened in Belorussia. At the end of 2020 the network turnover amounted to 30.6 billion rubles. The co-owners of the brand are American TJX Companies, as well as Goldman Sachs and Baring Vostok funds.
