Sber will establish a science prize with a fund of 60 million rubles

In 2021, Sber plans to establish a science prize that will cover research in biology, medicine, IT, mathematics, physics and other areas of science. This was announced by its head Herman Gref.

"We have announced today to our nabcovet that we are starting from this year to award the prize. We timed its launch to our 180th anniversary. This is Sber's science prize, it will be awarded in three categories and will cover most scientific research among scientific fields - such as biology, medicine, agricultural sciences, mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry, astronomy and technical sciences," he said.

The prize fund will be 60 million rubles, with three personal prizes worth 20 million rubles each year.

Collection of applications from nominees and the scientific community will begin shortly, the names of the first laureates will be announced in spring 2022.

The winners will be chosen by the committee consisting of reputable scientists and specialists in various fields of science and technology, as well as representatives of high-tech companies.
