Russia's leading turkey producer, Damate Group, has started construction of the country's largest second-order turkey breeding farm with an annual capacity of 12 million eggs in the Isetsky District of the Tyumen Region. Investments in the project will amount to 5.2 billion rubles, the company's press-service informed.

As explained by "Damat", the second order breeder is the enterprise where the 138 thousand parent stock of turkeys will be taken to obtain the eggs of highly productive crosses. All produced hatching eggs will be supplied to the group's turkey production complex in Penza region.

"The launch of the hatchery in Russia will significantly reduce the dependence of the poultry industry on the import of genetic material and increase the quality of eggs due to shorter storage time and optimized logistics: the eggs will be transported over shorter distances, which will reduce the number of losses during transportation, give a higher hatchability of chicks", - Damat explained.

The facility includes 10 poultry sites, of which five sites for young laying hens and five sites for parent stock. Technological solutions of the new production complex were worked out with the best world genetic companies, for example, zoning of the premises will ensure compliance with the highest standards of biosafety and sanitary norms. An important part of project implementation will be the development of modern infrastructure, including the installation of external networks and roads.

It is planned that the first phase of the project will be launched next year and the works will be fully completed in 2023. Reaching design capacity is expected in 2025.

It is noted that the implementation of the project will create about 200 jobs in the region. The financial partner of the project is Rosselkhozbank.
