Russian Dodo Pizza comes to Vietnam

Russian network Dodo Pizza is expanding its geography of presence - two pizzerias have opened in the Vietnamese city of Ho Chi Minh City, said the founder of the company Fyodor Ovchinnikov.

"Dodo Pizza started to work in Vietnam. Two pizzerias started simultaneously in Ho Chi Minh City. In fact, everything was ready as early as July 14, but Ho Chi Minh City has had one of the toughest lockdowns in the world for the past three months. The city of 10 million people was completely shut down, traffic on the streets was restricted, and roadblocks were in place at intersections. And just then, the city's authorities allowed the catering business to start operating," Ovchinnikov said on his Instagram.

So far, the pizzerias are only for delivery. In Vietnam, they were opened by a team of Yesen Dzhumanov from Kyrgyzstan, who earlier successfully launched a network in Bishkek. According to Ovchinnikov, it was not an easy project because the pizzerias were launched during the pandemic, "despite the circumstances, thanks to an entrepreneurial approach and the support of a strong local Vietnamese team."

"Vietnam is a huge promising market. The country's economy and middle class have been growing at an incredible rate in recent years. The team has big plans, so it was decided to open two flagship pizzerias at once in downtown Ho Chi Minh City," he said.
