A new cheese factory in the Moscow region will produce up to 1,000 tonnes of cheese annually

A new modular cheese factory has opened in Chekhov near Moscow. It plans to produce about 1 thousand tons of cheese per year, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow region said.

"Today a new modular cheese factory "De famille" in the Chekhov urban district has opened. The first stage of equipment was launched and the first cheese was cooked. As part of the first phase, the production of cheese with white mold up to 8 tons per day has been established, "- said the head of the Ministry Sergei Voskresensky.

It is specified that a grant in the amount of 35 million rubles was allocated for the erection of a cheese factory as part of the support for cheese production in 2019. The total investment amounts to 100 million rubles.

"The second stage at the cheese factory will be launched in November this year. It involves the production of cottage cheese. After the new cheese dairy achieves its full capacity, it will process up to 30 tons of milk a day. In a year, the production volume of cheese will be about 1 thousand tons," the Minister said.

De Famille Cheese Dairy, opened in 2014, produces such cheeses as Camembert, Brie, Bouch, San Marcelin, Caprice, Pave, Le Paillet and Brique Amber. The company received two bronze medals at the World Cheese Awards-2019 in Italy.
