Google and YouTube will refuse to monetize content that denies climate change, Google said in a statement. Such rules will take effect in November.
The changes will affect those materials on video hosting, which call climate change falsification or fraud, as well as claim that greenhouse gas emissions and human activities do not influence acceleration of global warming.
Over the past few years, the company explained, there has been an increase in discontent from advertising partners who don't want their ads appearing alongside ads making "inaccurate claims about climate change." Also, the authors of video content do not want such ads to appear on their pages.
