The Russian Ministry of Finance is working on the issue of green bonds. This was announced by Deputy Minister Ilya Torosov.

"The growth of the green securities market is one of the priorities in the Ministry of Economic Development's work on the climate agenda. "Green" financing is one of the main instruments of low-carbon development. After the successful placement of bonds of the government of Moscow, we see interest from other regions and companies," - his words "Izvestia" quote.

Torosov also noted that in September the Cabinet approved the criteria by which projects will be classified as "green". Placement of federal bonds is the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance.

"Green bonds are securities, the proceeds from which will be transferred to projects that improve the environmental situation and reduce damage to nature.
