Gas export to Europe by Gazprom increased by 44% this month, as opposed to the same period last year, reported the Chairman of the Board of the company, Aleksey Miller.

He added that the supply vollume of Russian gas to Germany in the given period rose by one third.

This January, Gazprom increased gas supply to CIS countries by 36%, to 15 billion square meters.

Today the news surfaced that the Government made a decision to extend it's working contract with the head of Gazprom, Aleksey Miller, to five years. A peice on this was written by the Kommersant. Miller has run the company for 15 years and might become the top record-breaker of a head of a government company.
