National safety standards in tourism industry will be developed in Russia by the end of October this year on the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
"Along with the growing tourist flow within the country, the government sees an important task to create the conditions under which the tourist industry will operate, strictly following the principle of safety for the citizens. It concerns both quality of tourist services and services in the context of individual types of tourism. In this regard, I have given instructions to Rostourism to develop national standards for tourism security, which should take into account best international practices in this field, as well as peculiarities of the tourist component in Russian regions", - he said on the government website.
The department has to submit proposals until the end of October this year. Chernyshenko noted that at present security issues in the North Caucasus regions, as well as in Turkey, where traditionally a large flow of Russian tourists is observed, are being worked out.
