French investors have invested over ₽180 billion in businesses near Moscow

Companies from France have invested more than 180 billion rubles in projects in the Moscow region, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Science of the region said.

"France is one of the key partners of the Moscow region. It ranks third among all foreign countries by the volume of investments in the Moscow region. To date, the total amount of French business investment in our region has exceeded 180 billion rubles. Within these investments are created about 40 enterprises where more than 27 thousand people work. Both we and our French partners are ready to develop this cooperation", - noted the Head of the Ministry Ekaterina Zinovieva.

For example, only last month two French companies have completed projects in the Moscow region, and the third has announced the start of construction. So, retailer Decathlon opened a new sporting goods store in Mytishchi, and the Saint-Gobain company launched a new production line for the production of acoustic panels at a factory in Egoryevsk. The total investment of these enterprises is about 750 million rubles, the department pointed out.

Moreover, FM Logistic has started the construction of a warehousing complex in Podolsk, with investments of about 2 billion rubles in the first phase alone. The most well-known company-manufacturer from the French region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, localized in the Moscow region, is Michelin. The enterprise has been operating in Orekhovo-Zuevo since 2002 and investments in the project exceed 7 billion rubles.

According to Minister Zinovieva, the Moscow region government intends to continue cooperation with their French colleagues from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Thus, a meeting is planned to be held before the end of the year to discuss the work plan for the next six months.
