Unilever to sell Calve and Baltimore brands to Russian KDV

Russian company KDV, manufacturer of snacks and confectionery ("Yashkino", "3 crusts", "Kirieshki", "Babkin Semechki") will become owner of Calve and "Baltimore" brands of British-Dutch concern Unilever, RBC reports referring to joint communication of the companies.

Currently, the parties are in the process of signing legal documents, after which KDV will acquire production facilities in Tula, the Baltimore brand and acquire the right to dispose of the Calve brand in Russia and the CIS.

Unilever explained that the decision on the sale of brands was made in order to increase business results, maintain quality products and consumer loyalty. Now the concern intends to focus on production of ice cream and dry seasonings.

Unilever is one of the largest world producers of convenience goods: food (Knorr and Lipton brands), cosmetics (Dove, Axe), household chemistry (Cif, Domestos).
