Skoda will develop new budget models of Volkswagen cars based on the MQB-A0-IN modular platform, RBC writes.

According to the carmaker's press service, the target markets for the new vehicles will be Russia, India, Africa and Southeast Asia.

The first model created specifically for India based on the scalable chassis MQB-A0-IN, became a compact crossover Skoda Kushaq, introduced in early 2021. The second model, built on a platform MQB-A0-IN, will become a compact sedan Skoda Slavia.

The novelty will debut in India before the end of this year. In the future the Skoda Slavia may become available in other markets.
