The owner of Dodo Pizza to open 400 locations in the US

The Syktyvkar chain of pizzerias, called Dodo Pizza will open its first location in the US on February 25, 2016. The Pizzeria will be opened for a test run in Oxford, Arkansas. The official groundbreaking is scheduled for early March, wrote the Vedomosti newspaper, citing the company founder, Fyodor Ovchinnikov and the director of Dodo Pizza USA Retail Inc., Alyona Tikhova.

Ovchinnikov promised to open 400 Dodo Pizza locations on US soil within the next ten years, whether private owned or by franchise. The opening of the first affiliate in the country will cost $500 000. The company is confident, that this will pay off by summer 2018. Ovchinnikov's plan puts the monthly turnover of the location at $45 000 by July or August this year. He confirmed that the price of produce for Dodo Pizza will be higher than for its competitors, but the company can save on their IT-platforms, that were privately developed, only doing deliveries and only through the internet and a limited menu. The price of one pizza, according to him, at Papa John's or Domino's is $12-13.

Dodo Pizza is actively growing within Russia. The company turnover for 2015 was over 1 billion rubles. The net profit of the home network under the control of Pizza Venture, which has seven restaurants, Ovchinnikov stated, for this period amounted to 20.6 million rubles. The loss of Dodo Franchise, which manages 78 locations, opened by franchise, was 28.6 million rubles.

The Russian businessman, Mikhail Goncharov, the founder of Teremok crepe shops, also announced the start to the globalization of his business to the US, writes Secret Firmy magazine. He plans to open two fast food restaurants in Manhattan under this brand. The entrepreneur intends to invest from $150 000 to 250 000 in each of them.
